The Design Process
Step One - The Brand
Suklaa's brand is designed to appeal to adventures, exploratory, and quality food lovers, communicating its Finnish traditions as a window into another culture. The welcoming serif font references Suklaa's long history of Finnish chocolate making, with the icon referencing Finnish patterns found on traditional clothing.
The colors were taken from traditional Finnish clothing with warm earthy chocolate colors to tie into the chocolate aspect of the brand.
Sprint Two - The Website
Suklaa's website was created to sell the chocolate to the brand audience. It is heavily focused on chocolate, with crisp photos of delicious dark, white, and milk chocolates to encourage users to make a purchase. The branding that stays constant throughout helps to sell the chocolate by providing more trust in the company.
The Prototype
User Persona - Ashley
Ashley is a user persona that was created to represent the ideal customer of Suklaa.
Ashley can explore Suklaa's website, seeing what the company stands for, how to become part of the community, browse Suklaa's products, and make a purchase.
The Summary
The Suklaa Brand
Suklaa’s branding helps communicate it’s core values, keeping Suklaa’s heritage while remaining modern and exciting. The website is designed to sell the chocolate with a thoughtful choice of imagery and direct call to actions.
