Eclipse Therapy Companion
An application that makes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy more accessible to young adults who want to improve their confidence in facing life’s challenges.
Project Overview
Challenges
Anxiety is a growing problem in the US, but according to a study done by Samien Labs, 45% of Americans who have the symptoms for clinical mental health disorders do not seek help.
The main reasons for this according to the same study, were because people don't trust the mental health system, people did not know how to connect to the right therapist, and because people preferred self help methods over clinical therapy.
Solution
Eclipse will make therapy more accessible through a fun, educational app that guides users through cognitive behavioral therapy while connecting them to licensed therapists to start them on their journey to self growth.

The Design Process
Sprint One - The Brand
Establishing both the visual and conceptual base for the brand was a crucial step that I completed in the first two week sprint of this project. I started with written and visual research, then moved onto sketching, finalizing a logo, and making edits based on feedback received.
Sprint Two - The Wireframes
After conducting a thorough search though visual inspiration and researching Cognitive Behavioral Therapy I designed a full set of wireframes, focusing on visual hierarchy, layout grids, and content design.
Sprint Three - The Comps
Sprint three involved designing a full set of prototypes based on the needs of the user personas, applying finished branding to each page, creating illustrations, and adding prototyped animations.
The Prototypes
Persona 1 - Josh
Josh is one of the user personas created to guide the process of designing this app, ensuring that I am meeting the needs of the target demographic.
Josh can use Eclipse to get connected to a therapist that is in his insurance network, where he can make an appointment with ease. He can also use the daily refresh feature to learn tools on how to approach personal growth, and complete the smart quiz feature to reinforce the growth of positive thought patterns.
Persona 2 - Sophie
Sophie is another one of the user personas created to guide the process of designing this app, ensuring that I am meeting the needs of the target demographic.
Sophie can use Eclipse to make goals which will then be auto updated to inform the curriculum, allowing her a personalized experience that will tailor to her needs. She can then go through the curriculum, adding journal entries and completing challenges, as well as gain motivation from a fun feature where she can decorate a spaceship interior.
Persona 3 - Alex
Alex is the final persona created to inform the design process. She represents the therapist's point of view.
Alex can use the app to keep organized by keeping track of to do list items, a guided, note taking system, and a dashboard to keep track of the needs of each of her patients.
The Summary
Solving The Problem
Eclipse makes therapy more accessible by making it easy to connect to therapists and giving individuals the information they need to feel confident in the process of self improvement.
Lessons Learned
I learned a lot about illustration and how to apply color to guide the hierarchy
